PETER LINDBERGH
Peter Lindbergh is a photographer and a video editor,director credited with ''ushering in new era'' of super modal photography.Lindbergh was born on November 23rd,1944,to German parents in Leszno,Poland.He spent his childhood in Duisberg,Germany.In 1960,he moved to Lucerne,Switzerland and months later to Berlin where he enrolled in the Berlin Academy of fine arts.He hitchhicked to Arles,France in the footsteps if his idol,Vincent Van Gogh.He studied abstract art at the college of art in Krefeld.
His speciality is using black and white photography.He think it is important to create the super modal. Every time he tried to shoot them in colors,because their beauty was close to perfection,it ended up with black and white we can really see who they are.It toned down the commercial interpreation that color gives.Black and white really helps a sense of reality to come through.
He is known for his subject in their natural states with hardly any makeup.He launched the careers of many super modals such as''Cindy Crawford,Naomi Campbell,Nadja Auerman,Tatjana Petitz,Karen Alexander and many more.
In 1971 he turned his attention to photography and for 2 years he worked with German photographer Hans Lux as assistance before opening his own studio in 1973.He was inspired by Joseph Kosuth.Duisberg,a coastal industrial town that world later influence the backdrops of his photography.Lindbergh first studied abstract and conceptual art .Inspired by the documentry photography of ''Dorothea lange Henri Carter Berson and Garry Winogrand ''.He developed a reputation for photogenic realism in which object and people -especially women -were shot in ostensibly pure,untouched states wearing minimal makeup and casually styled.

He won best photographer award in'' Les trophees de la mode'' in 1994 .
He won gold medal in Bercelona International photography awards in Spain 1991.
He is also awarded as honorary award for American Foundation for AIDS research U.S.A 2014.
